I needed to build a second PC due logistics at home and my last 4 builds have all been Intel, my last AMD was still an FX six core... I saw the pending release of the AM5 but I could not wait and I did not like the Intel 12 Gen Reviews with DDR5 issues... Decided to go AM4 as its proven an I love it...

I've ran a Ryzen 2700x for a good while on my ROG B450-F Strix board. Popped in the 5900x and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only does this chip boost to 5.0Ghz single core & 4.65ghz all-core using standard PBO settings on air-cooling, it does so at lower temps/voltage than the previous 2700x. Some quick benchmark figures showed Cinebench_R20 going up from 4236pts to 8829pts between the two cpu chips. Single-core score only at 634pts so may need to do some tweaks over there but it's still pretty close to standard claimed figures. Couldn't ask for a better cpu to extend the lifespan of my trusty old B450 motherboard. Thank you Wootware!

While it is performing almost the same on single threaded tasks as my previous processor (i7-9700k) - this beast shines in multi-tasking and multi-threaded apps. As a developer, gamer, this is a really affordable processor at the price point. I believe you get every cent of your money's worth with this one.

Solid performance for half the power consumption than the Alder Lakes, it was an easy choice for me and I don't regret it. Wootware's service is excellent, delivered within 2 days of purchase.

Even in the wake of the Alderlake reviews this was still an excellent choice!
It's crushed everything I've thrown at it so far.

I eventually upgraded from a i7 4770, 4 core 8 thread cpu. And I can tell you it was worth the upgrade. After watching Youtube channel Tech Deals, and doing a lot of research I made my decision and went with the 5900X. And as Tech Deals say, "If your gona upgrade, UPGRADE." Thank you Wootware for the good service and the courier for the fast delivery.

I haven't build the computer yet, but I do know that the Ryzen 9 5900X will definitively be a helpful tool for a software developer as myself. My fellow programmer has one and he recommended that I should get the Ryzen as well.

This is my very first AMD CPU, I have always wanted to try their products and this CPU does not disappoint.

I do not upgrade my computer needlessly, but I didn't realize how much I needed this upgrade as much as I have until I received this CPU, it seems I held fast to my 4670k for way too long, everything had started to stutter over the years and annoyed me to no end.

My desktop experience has greatly improved, anything and everything you can think of, browsers, programs, editing, gaming, I click, it's there, I open, it's processed, an extremely enjoyable experience. I am extremely happy with this product. If you multitask like I do, you won't be disappointed.

I have only gamed on this chip, not overclocked and it runs INCREDIBLE! Everything is butter smooth and snappy.

At first I was worried about the temps initially. On load it would run at average ~60-65 degrees, on idle ~ 30 ( Right now it is winter ) with an AIO. With my previous 4770k it ran at ~55 on load.
This is nothing to be alarmed by though apparently, being more powerful with more cores its completely normal, actually good.

I don't have any complains about this chip, everything works great thus far ????

Personally, I think this CPU is a great value if you do any productivity workloads that are highly multithreaded. I am running a Linux distribution (Arch btw) that often requires me to compile code from source, previously something like a Chromium compile used to take me multiple hours to build on my i5 6600K, now can be done in under an hour. The large quantity of CPU cores is also amazing for running virtual machines for things like Siege and SolidWorks as neither of them has native Linux clients.

Of all the CPU's I bought in the past I gotta say that this one impressed me the most hands down. I mainly use my PC for gaming and I used to run a 5600X but replaced it with the 5900X to help out a struggling friend with the special wootware had going. On a gaming related topic I saw a 15 - 20fps increase on warzone on 2k res which surprised me tbh. All in all this was a great buy and I would highly recommend the 5900X.

What a CPU...12 cores, 24 threads...it just has no match currently when playing games, doing video editing, and other production tools. it hardly breaks a sweat, and it does it at cool temperatures as well.

If you want the best gaming, get this, if you want the best there is at this prize point to do your daily task etc. get this!! Excellent CPU from AMD! The Ryzen 5900X.

Out of the box, my Ryzen 9 5900x experienced BSOD errors and WHEA Uncorrectable Errors in the Windows Event Viewer. At first, I thought I had received a faulty CPU but it turns out this is a very common issue with this CPU. If anyone else gets these issues, update your motherboard BIOS. If that doesn't work: set the power limits of the CPU on your motherboard higher and fiddle with the CPU core voltage offsets (it might be too high or too low - so either add or remove 0.1v and test it out). This is something that'll hopefully be corrected with a future BIOS update.

After fixing these initial issues with some BIOS tweaks, I've been very happy. The performance is fantastic, and the CPU runs pretty cool with my H115i cooler.

Upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600 to this, 5900x. Running x470 motherboard

All seems much snappier than before, great power consumption for the speed. Can easily hit 5ghz on single cores with some OC.
Highly recommended! No CPU upgrades for me for the next 5 years.

The system was upgraded from an I7 3770 to the R9 5900x.

This improved my GPU utilization in games a lot and allowed the GPU to max out (be the bottleneck) in games like Warzone and CSGO where previously the GPU would only run at about 80 %.

Multitasking while gaming improved by miles, YouTube videos on the second scree can be played in FHD without lagging with Discord and various other apps running.

For the enthusiasts the overclocking and undervolting settings are a treat to figure out and play with even on the B550 bords.

All in all, this is a good price to performance CPU if you can spend the money.

An absolute monster! AMD is back!

It's really doing great ,better than what I thought . Some tasks that use to use like 70- 80 % on my old ryzen 7 barely even hits 10% on this . It is doing really really well

The 5900x is a beast. With 12 cores, multitasking has no hitches, and gaming performance is superb. Running it air-cooled with a Scythe Mugen 5 Rev B and temps are hovering around 80C, might need some undervolting, but it's still an acceptable temperature. Makes my mobile 7700HQ look like a potato.

AMD has definitely taken the gaming crown with this one. Crazy fast and even has a little bit of overclocking room. This no longer feels like a compromise between large core count and high clock speeds. The 5900x has both in spades.
