- Fantastic CPU for the money. - Dean Kaiser, 2 December 2023
The Ryzen 7 5800X is a fantastic CPU for the price. Also a huge shout-out to Wootware for the excellent customer service and competitive pricing they have on their site. Also they have a better selection of PC TECH than what Evetech or anyone else can ever dream of having. Please support these guys and you won't be disappointed at all.
- Perfection - Richard, 4 April 2023
You can never go wrong with AMD. Good value for money
- Gets hot even with a massive cooler - Eduard , 19 January 2022
I use a Scythe Mugen and with e.g. Linpack I can reach 90°C in no time.
This is to be expected. For lower temperatures get a 5600X or 5900X which uses less power or has a more even distribution of the kernels. - Excellent performance - Matthew, 13 January 2022
Best purchase I could have made at a great price too. I upgraded from a Ryzen 1700 to this beast and I couldn't be happier with it. Great CPU, be sure to pair it with a decent mb.
- Unleash the Dragon - Nicky, 26 December 2021
This is not a new Cisco song, but if we can look back 5 years from now, this CPU is a legend in the making, Performance 10/10. The New AMD 5000 series is a beast. Yes there are YouTube reviews that say this chip runs hot but you can fix this by tweaking the PPT/TDC/EDC in your bios settings. With Corsair H100i AIO after running CINBENCH R15 temp is sitting at 75c. Upgraded from 1700x and there is a definite boost in performance in games and applications. If you on the fence don't hesitate just buy this CPU. Wootware's service is excellent as always. fast delivery too.
- No regrets here - De Wet, 19 August 2021
After 1 month I have literally nothing but positive comments.
Paired this with the RX 6700 XT and saved myself a R 1000. I've ran 3 games at once, did coding, streamed, discorded and literally everything else on my PC at the same time to stress test this thing and it didn't even reach 50 degrees. This CPU is a MONSTER. You. Will. Not. Regret. Don't settle for an i5 or i7. Trust me. - Absolute Beast - Shane, 15 August 2021
This is the BEST CPU I've ever owned. Though this is above the recommended MSRP at the moment, I genuinely think it is worth ever single cent!
I paired this with a Fractal Design Celsius + 360 AIO - Idle temps are below 30 degrees and when under load, I barely see high 60's.
Give this CPU a task and it will complete it blistering performance!
- 5800x goes whoooosh - Phillip, 5 May 2021
Its damn fast, but needs a good cooler because the thermal density of the cores. It runs like a dream in Linux, but note that you need kernel 5.12 or newer to monitor the CPU temps, but ctl and die temps are available.
- It's Good™ - Zander, 19 March 2021
The first AMD processor I've used in my personal rig since the Ahtlon 64 X2, simply an incredible piece of silicon from AMD. Moving from quad-core Intel to eight-core AMD is a big leap, not to mention the jump in single threaded performance.
The 5800X is the sweetspot for me in terms of producitivity, and I'm happy local prices aren't too far removed from reality. - Fast and toasty - Vincent, 15 March 2021
Upgraded from a 6700K. Performance is drastically better.
As others have mentioned it seems to run a little hotter than expected. Use a decent cooler. I opted for a AIO (240 mm) - I think a large air cooler with mass may be a better fit for this. Also get lots of airflow in your case, it drives up the ambient temps a bit. - Excellent Service! - Ranen, 26 January 2021
No issues with delivery or payment.
AMD has come a long way in the past few years. This 5800x is a beast of an upgrade to my i7700K. It runs at the same speed at cooler temps with an additional 4 cores. It also keeps my RTX 3080 fed, where as the i7700K couldn't even with a 5ghz overclock. It is a bit expensive compared to other countries but this is RSA.
I would suggest this for gaming and streaming. - Great but runs hot - Thomas, 21 January 2021
CPU runs very hot even with well ventilated case and 240mm AIO. Reason for this being the version I got has a 2 CCD (can be seen under HWiNFO64 - CPU CCD2) meaning the one 8 core chiplet is no where near directly under the waterblock. Otherwise performs pretty decently. With manually setting the mainboard PPT/TDC/EDC to default values and a negative curve voltage runs alright for now, sub 85 after hours of prime and around 70's in gaming.
- Fast boi, but a warm boi - Kyle, 4 December 2020
Great speed and clocks. But, at this moment, with the current BIOSes available for my X570 Taichi, this chip does run pretty hot. Seems the thermal density may be an issue compared to twin die 5900X.
Still recommend the chip for gaming, just make sure you have adequate cooling. Currently under a Phanteks PH-TC14PE.
Also note that I got this chip for R8999 on launch day - so take Wootware selling it (as at 4th December) for R9999 (and saying R1000 off!) with a pinch of salt.
Wootware, stop doing this - Customers notice and its just not cool. - Not the best value in Ryzen 5000 but DAYUM, it's fast - Hayden, 18 November 2020
Upgraded from a 2700 to this and I can feel the improvement in every action on the PC. Everything seems smoother and snappier. Load times are reduced as well (although that could be the memory upgrade) - Plays nice with my 3600mhz memory as well. The only thing that I'm not a fan of is that it runs about 10C hotter than the 2700. Still within accepatble limits but I'll need to consider upgrading my AIO from a 240 to a 360
- Amazing - Brandon, 16 November 2020
Unbelievable jump in performance, I upgraded from a 3800X and can't believe how much better it runs. As someone else said, it does run a bit hot so I had to order an AIO, the Prism cooler left over from my 3800X didn't cut it. It's now running at ~35C idle with a slight undervolt and around ~60C during gameplay. I play mostly Escape from Tarkov which is known to be poorly optimized (and CPU dependant) and I've seen a 25-40% improvement in FPS depending on map, microstutters are also now gone, INSANE!
- MORE FRAMES - Etienne, 13 November 2020
Runs csgo well, thats all I got to say :)
Actually 1 star off cause AMD priced it a bit high. - Single Core Speeds For More Temp - Dylan , 12 November 2020
Excellent product. Paired with a new MAG X570 Tomahawk motherboard.
Upgraded from 6700K and the performance boost is rather amazing for an AMD CPU. They've really stepped up their game with this generation and this CPU can match a 10900K or exceed it in some games. It beats the i9 in many production applications as well, with less cores and less power consumption.
Just beware that it can run pretty hot so get efficient cooling and airflow.
