Coming from a Ryzen 5 1600 AF. The 3700x is literally perfect and all you will need. I have it paired with a RTX 2060 Palit. Run Escape from Tarkov with Medium settings 120 easily. With Ryzen 5 1600 AF i sometimes got 100 fps but usually 80fps. So big difference there.

Temps with my Ryzen 5 was Max 55°C with Hyper 212 cooler.

Ryzen 7 3700x with Hyper 212 Cooler, i get Max 72°C.

This could be my room which is warm as I have a Server running as well.

Overall I am pretty happy with this purchase. Nice 8C16T CPU in future I would like to pair it with a RTX 3060 Ti

Well, let me just say this, I game a lot - daily, 7 days a week and I must say the quality of the in-game graphics have improved 10 fold. The previous AMD CPU was an older model and defintely did not opitmise my AMD Graphics Card to the extend this model has. VERY impressed...

Upgraded from a 1700 to this 3700X. It was a good move. It performs well and runs pretty cool, with the Noctua DH14. Runs as I expected it to.
The AMD cooler works well, but is not a Noctua.

I'm happy with the performance in both the full Adobe Creative Suite and on platforms like Steam, Battle.net etc. I would recommend manually overclocking for more stability and better temperature management.

I made the switch from intel to ryzen and couldn't be happier. Initially wanted to get ryzen 5, really glad I went with this. This processor is a beast. Been gaming, streaming, video editing and encoding and it runs all with ease at great speeds. The included cooler is also great

Very impressed with this product - it performs exceptionally well and gives great bang for buck. Have not run into any issues, smooth and up for the task with reasonable temperatures even on stock cooling. Highly recommended!

I primarily use this CPU in a gaming desktop and so far I have been unable to get it to max out in any games.

I'm using a Phanteks PH-TC12DX cooler and it runs extremely cool, only hitting about 65 degrees under max load on all threads.

I made sure to handle this with the utmost care when taking it out of the box and installing it, yet it wouldn't sit flush when I placed it into the socket. On closer inspection I saw that it had a bent pin which I had to fix very carefully. I don't really do much CPU intensive work so I can't say much for its performance, but the idea was to get something "future-proof" for gaming and general computer use.

I upgraded from a Intel I7 6700 to the the Amd Ryzen 7 3700, it is a nice upgrade, did some research and found that the 3700 has the best price to/for performance. The 3700 is compared to he Intel I7 9700k cpu, where the 3700 is way cheaper and out performs / performs the same as the 9700k at 3.6GHz, you also get a RGB CPU cooler/fan.

If you're wondering whether this processor will handle the latest games or multi threaded tasks easily, wonder no more. This thing is a beast and crushes every and all tasks. I was initially hesitant to switch from Intel to AMD but I am really glad I have. Amazing chip.

Coming from an old i7 4790, this has been a massive upgrade. This CPU handles gaming and streaming at the same time without breaking a sweat. Currently running on the medium OBS preset, no issues at all.

Much better value compared to it's Intel equivalent.

Went from a ryzen 7 1700 to this and all i can say is im not sorry, paired with TF 32gb 3200mhz ram running at 3400mhz this cpu is a beast, and def a jumpup in FPS for some reason using the same gpu 5700xt

paired with a CM ML360 temps maxes out at 60degrees at 4.45ghz

Out of the box(without any overclocking) , with a low profile cooler under a extremely long and intense work load Infiniti fabric boosted me to 4.04 GHz all core clock at around 81 to 83 Deg Celsius. A bit hot but is was a brutal workload with a low profile cooler in a mini Itx case!

I doubt many people will pull it this hard, although it can, this is great bang for the buck!

The performance is truely great. One of the biggest reasons for me upgrading was Warhorse's Kingdom Come Deliverance and running into Rattay full speed on horseback, I can tell you this 3700x doesnt care. It laughs at the same scenario that made my i5 3570k look like it was running cinebench, and cut my friends i7 3770k fps to 30fps, and that was oc'd to 4.6ghz.

An extremely powerful CPU. This and my Palit RTX 2070 Super run Assassins Creed Odyssey on High/Very High at 100-120 FPS. However, it idles at 40C with the stock cooler and sits around 65-80C while gaming.

Now I'm probably not the best judge as I upgraded from a i3-3220 to the 8 core monster that this CPU is. Honestly it may not be a 9900k or 9700k killer in games, but it's damn near close, and it can do anything, I multi task a lot, which includes Photoshop and honestly it handles it like a dream, you definitely want to pair it up with fast memory, I have it paired with 3200mhz RAM and it does well but I think the sweetspot is higher somewhere near 3600mhz. Scored 2012 on Cinebench R15. Super happy with this purchase

I have this paired up with an X470 motherboard and if you wish to do the same, the people at Wootware are superhelpful they'll update the bios for you to make sure it will run the new 3rd gen CPUS so just make sure to talk with the people at Wootware and they're super helpful.

TLDR: Great cpu, great for multi-tasking, won't regret it

I bought this CPU at launch and having gone from a Ryzen 7 2700 to this 3700X the improvement was massive. Saying that I get up to a 33% performance increase seems far fetched however playing world boss fights in Guild Wars 2 has seen this increase. With the included Prism cooler the cpu boosts and stays over 4Ghz for the majority of the time. While the cooler is adequate you might want to consider a different cooler for the noise.

A heads up that this CPU will self overclock/boost and manual overclocks will do little or make things worse. Also do not attempt to adjust the voltage of the CPU. It does run between 1V and as high as 1.5V. This is normal for how this cpu works but I would recommend changing the power settings in windows from performance to balanced.

By no means is this CPU the i7 9700k or i9 9900k killer but for its price you cannot get a better 8core 16thread cpu. If you cannot afford this cpu or you want similar gaming performance then the Ryzen 5 3600 (non-X) has been praised as the best price to performance gaming cpu since the i5 2500k.
