Good purchase, noticeable improvement in performance of the system itself and gaming in general as an upgrade from a 3600 CPU, which also pairs well with the B550 gaming motherboard, would recommend it as a definite buy.

I Recently bought a RX 9070xt, a 1440p Ultrawide monitor and paired my setup with this CPU, and upgrade from my amd 3600.
This Amd 5600 performs extremely well and 9/10 times i am not cpu bottlenecked.
I am of the opinion that this CPU and AM4 platform is definitely worth considering still in 2025 and 2026.

Absolute Beast Of A CPU For It's Price.

I Initially Had The Ryzen 5500 Which Is Not A Bad CPU At All. I Had It Paired With An RX 7600 Which Is Equivalent To The RTX 4060 But I Was Experiencing Some Bottlenecking In My Experience In Games Like CS2 & Dota2. I Was Getting Around 270FPS In CS2.

I Changed To The Ryzen 5600 & Used The 5500 For Another Budget Build. I'm Now Getting Around 470FPS In CS2.

The 5600 Has Double The Amount Of Cache Than The 5500 Which Really Gives You An FPS Boost In Games Like CS2 From What I've Seen. 200+FPS in CS2 Is Worth That Extra R1000.

Wow, my fps went up with this CPU. Upgraded from a Ryzen 5 pro 4650G to this beast. With this cpu + B550 MB + AMD RX 7600 GPU I went from 100fps high settings to 185 fps Ultra settings on Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Night and day difference from my old 3400G. This CPU has given my pc new life, even with the old A320M-A PRO MAX motherboard. Best budget upgrade I could go for.

Was hesitant to shell out the money for an AM5 build but was worried about whether it would perform, and man it does.

I've been playing a variety of FPS, Sim and AAA games and have been super impressed. Temps have not gone above 65 and usually sits between 58-63.

Absolutely love it, very snappy along with great gaming performance, going to run it with a RX6800XT.

My b350 rog mobo has had a 2200g, then a 3300x, and now a 5600. Its astounding how much life my b350 has been given on AM4. Since upgrading, my 1% lows and my average fps on games that are cpu demanding have had a big increase(cyberpunk, spiderman, fortnite with lumen and nanite enabled). I would highly recommend this to anyone that's on a 1000, 2000 or 3000 series cpu as you will most certainly feel the difference. Let's not forget the price, this cpu is probably the best bang for buck I have seen in a long time and this cpu will be known as the value king.

No fuss running. Using it with a 6650xt and it’s good. Slightly noisy stock cooler but it generally runs well even with the pre applied thermal paste

This little CPU is really good value and will handle most workloads without a problem. PCIe 4.0 support is nice for faster storage and graphics, especially if you pair it with a modern PCIe 4.0 GPU that only has 4 or 8 lanes - making PCIe 4.0 a must. Turning on Precision Boost Overdrive allows this to suck down over 100W, increasing performance a bit, and although it will thermal throttle when doing this with the stock cooler - testing shows that it's still worth turning on since it will still improve performance vs. not having it turned on. Don't bother with the X model - PBO brings this CPU close to it for cheaper.

Compared to the Intel Core i3-12100F (which is another really great value CPU), if you can afford it, this one is better in most workloads. And although the AM4 platform is nearing an end, an upgrade path to the 5800X3D (for gaming) or 5950X (for productivity) is available for future expansion.

By far the *best* affordable AM4 upgrade ou there (in SA)! Upgrading from R5 2600 to this CPU, worth every penny. Performance increased tenfold, very happy with this purchase.

overall a very good cpu for gaming, a big leap in performance from my older ryzen 5 1400. The stock wraith stealth cooler has the cpu a bit hotter than im used to but from what i have read they stick around ~80C under load with the stock cooler and its perfectly safe

This is the best upgrade for the money you can do to your AM4 system. I upgraded from a 2700 and could not be happier. It beats the older Ryzen 7, 8 core CPU on all fronts. Just make sure you watch a few Youtube videos on setting a negative Precision Boost curve. This CPU easily boosts to 4.65 / 4.7 GHz when needed with good CPU temps if you have a halfway decent CPU cooler. Gets a bit hot and noisy with the bundled cooler when overclocking, so invest in a better cooler if you plan to fiddle with the boost settings. Well worth the extra bucks.

Just finished assembling the new PC components, Reinstalled windows, chipset and drivers, and already gaming in less than 2 hours. it's amazing huge difference from a decade old AMD A-Series APU to this Ryzen 5 5600 beast! Definitely worth it!

I have been running the CPU (with the included cooler) for a week and it works great. (Keep in mind that I am coming from a Haswell i5 quad core)

You might want to consider the 12400F from the blue team, but I found that the combo of this CPU with the cheapest B550 board works out cheaper .

Upgraded from the R7 1700 to the R5 5600 is kinda crazy to see this kind of performance uplift. Plus there will be future support for the AM4 platform. Its not dead, yet, still another few more year's until we all on AM5.

AMD Ryzen fan - The 5 5600 is an excellent mid-range CPU, perfect for the gamer on a budget. Just get a good graphics card to cover the rest. It manages to perform quite well given its price range. Overall, the 5 5600 is a decent processor for PC builders or AM4 upgraders. Remember, you pay for what you get.

If you're already Ryzen 2000 or lower, it's an absolute steal for the performance you get.

System is much faster and responsive had to do special bios upgrade which my only concern was loadshedding in between...never happened!

For those interested, this Ryzen 5 5600 sits comfy at about 4.25Ghz all core and 4.45Ghz single core. My consistent Cinebench R20 scores are 4155 (All Core) and 560 (Single Core). Temps aren't a problem for me and evens out at mid 50's under full load with a Scythe Fuma 2 cpu cooler. (60% fan speed at 55 degrees)

Best value for money AMD CPU at the moment. Can still upgrade to the 5800X3D in a few years time before this platform is dead.

PS: I'm glad they are also moving to LGA for Zen 4. Old CPU stuck to the cooler when I removed it.

This CPU performs well for the price. Chose this over the X version because it was good enough for my needs and its not really worth paying extra for that letter X. Would recommend this over the X version for anyone buying this for a gaming system as you wont make substantial gains for the price increase

I play flight simulators and often the CPU can be the bottleneck. This CPU hits a sweat compromise of performance while not being too expensive. Highly recommend

This is a great cpu for the price with not a huge difference in performance compared to a 5600X. So think if you really need that small bit of extra performance otherwise you basically paying extra for just a letter.
